למרות הלחץ הבינ"ל: איראן הוציאה להורג מתאבק שהפגין נגד המשטר

המתאבק האיראני נביד אפקארי בן ה-27 הוצא להורג, לאחר שהורשע בהרג מאבטח בהפגנה נגד השלטון בשנת 2018 - כך הודיעה היום (שבת) התקשורת באיראן. ראש מערכת המשפט במחוז פארס שבדרום המדינה אמר כי "הבוקר, בתום הליכים שבוצעו בנוכחות הוריו ומשפחתו של הקורבן, אפקארי הוצג להורג".

שני אחיו, ואהיד וחביב, ירצו 54- ו-27 שנים בכלא לאחר שהורשעו במסגרת אותה פרשה. גורמים מחוץ לאיראן הפעילו לחץ כדי להציל את חייו. כך למשל, כשנודע בשבוע שעבר כי אפקארי צפוי להיות מוצא להורג, נשיא ארה"ב דונלד טראמפ פנה למשטר האיראני בבקשה שיחוסו על חייו: "כל מה שהוא עשה היה להפגין נגד המשטר. מנהיגי איראן, אעריך זאת מאוד אם תחוסו על חייו של הבחור הצעיר הזה, ולא תוציאו אותו להורג. תודה!".

קריאות לבטל את גזר הדין של המתאבק הבין-לאומי הגיעו גם מישראל. הג'ודאי שגיא מוקי הביע בו תמיכה בפוסט באינסטגרם בשפה האנגלית: "היום זה נביד, אבל מחר זה יכול להיות ספורטאי אחר או כל אדם שיצא נגד המשטר האפל באיראן. זה ברור שגזר הדין הוא בלתי חוקי, ואני מפציר בכם, עוקביי, לשתף את הפוסט ולהצטרף לקריאה העולמית לשחרור נביד, ובמהרה. כולנו נביד!".

But in a parallel world - not far from here, there are those who were left behind, where “freedom of speech” is just an expression. The following is an important and unfortunate story which we must spread – throughout Israel and the world. In Iran, there is a young man named Navid, 27 years old, one of the best athletes in Iran who has dedicated his entire life to the sport he loved - wrestling. He represented his country all over the world and won many medals. But Navid made one small mistake that sentenced him to death. His only sin was to express his opinion in a democratic style called a "protest". This allows any person, anywhere, to demonstrate day in and day out anywhere in the world - but not in Iran. The Iranian regime defined this as an illegal gathering and as insulting to their ruler. At the end of his trial, the judges sentenced Navid to death. But as if this wasn’t enough, they decided to add 74 lashes before his death - death in agony. The UN Declaration of Human Rights states: " Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.” Today it is Navid, but tomorrow it could be another athlete or any person who spoke out against the dark regime in Iran. It is clear to us all that this sentence is illegal, and I urge you, my followers, to share this post and others to join the global call to release Navid, and quickly! We are all Navid!
